While in Kentucky I was talking to an ole boy from the Mountain City TN area and I mentioned that I used to ride Callalantee a good bit before it closed and he said they were about to reopen the park.

He called me last Friday and told me several guys he worked with were going there last Saturday for their first day opening.

He said he couldn't go there last Saturday due to a previous commitment but was going this coming Saturday and he will call me after the ride and fill me in on how it's going.

When the park closed they had roughly between 130 and 160 miles of trails, he said they had 38 to 40 miles open now and would be opening more as time went by....

This is great news, it has some great technical trails and the park is fairly close to me and real close to Gator, sr22 and pretty close to Jame's (liquid1), James and I both have rode a many a mile up there and can attest to it being some good riding.

I heard it is being opened and run by the county and they have another piece of property they're wanting to add to the system and allow rode travel between the two pieces of property.

I hope this true and I will find out more when I talk to my buddy after riding there this weekend then I'll post up what i find.

I love hearing about new trails being opened and old closed trails being reopened, that's great news for all of us.....

He just called me to let me know that it isn't actually the old Callalantee Park, it's not far from the old park but is a new park in the same area.

He's trying to get some more info on the park and driving directions to the trailhead/parking area for me.

I'll pass along any info I receive....
