Butch, I've noticed that when I use a desktop PC there is no "advanced reply" option and there is no way to use smilies, etc. I tried using the other themes, but still the same. Those options work from my phone, just not my PC.
at work I'm using IE with windows 2010 (i believe) and at home I'm using IE with whatever is the latest version of windows.

or is my mental timing "un-advanced"? LOL

Which theme are you on Jack? Does your screen not look like this when typing in a quick reply box at the bottom of a thread?

There is probably a compatibility issue with the version of IE they are running or with the version of windows. It probably isn't windows 2010 since that sounds more like the version of Office they have installed. Probably an older version (Vista or XP) unless they just upgraded to windows 10? I know there are all kinds of issues with ie 8 or older so that could be it as well. If you look at ie under the settings icon or help tab it will list what version it is. If you can access the computer settings you can check the version of windows as well as alternate compatibility modes.

Kenny it's way worse than just missing smileys. He lost the toolbar. If this happened to anyone else they would probably be all :017:....:breakcomp:....:cussing:... and I would have to ...:hiding:....:hee20hee20hee:
