This is long overdue! But cool they finally have done it. This, along with a reckluse clutch, it ought to be right at home on the technical trails! Someone needs to do this and take it to Windrock and do Walden's ridge trail, and trail 12!! Lol

The company tube works is the one building them for Yamaha. They have been doing the gear reduction kit for them for several months now. Would definitely turn the YXZ into a better woods vehicle for sure

that is correct. it's a win for everyone. Yamaha doesn't have to tool for them, Tubeworks gets the contract, and the customer gets the kit for half the price. Unless you are going to rock crawl, the 70-40 reduction is unnecessary. James Davis had them lower his first gear only by 30% and it makes a huge difference. The remaining four gears are fine as they are now.

Read somewhere the retail is $1000. Which is nearly half the price of the tubeworks kit. Not including dealer install

Should be stock on these machines. Its good its offered. How long in labor does it take to complete this kit. Needs to be options for east and west coast. After seeing the Nevada desert i would want the taller more speedy stocker. Around here its nuts.

the 30% makes a huge difference, 70% would be a real crawler
the SS model needs the same gearing

Read over on the YXZ forum tubeworks in in the process of making something for the ss model. Also over there, there is a dealer who is has some left over 16 models, selling them for 16k, and are offering the regear at no charge to install... So 17k with a lower gearing brand new. Sweet deal! Hopefully by the time I'm ready to buy they will just have a pure sport woods model lol

Heard lot people putting in heavier flywheels also. Give it more torque. For trail riding guess they are liking that mod.

Seems like the lower gearing on an SS model would really raise the potential of breaking axles, etc if you used the launch control thing.
